Where do I even begin? Krakow is everything I have ever wanted and more. On the drive to Dizzy Daisy Hostel I was confused with the modern day architecture and the existence of American culture especially good old KFC or as Brian called it, Krakow Fried Chicken. Once we arrived in downtown Krakow that's when reality set in. We were finally in Poland. We had finally arrived to one of the most historic cities in the country and I wouldn't have it any other way.
The first night, for those who had already arrived, took us to a traditional Polish restaurant where we were seated in a cavelike room. Although the room we were in was breathtaking the menu was the best part. Pierogi, potato pancakes, a variety of meats, drink, and homemade bread with cottage cheese and lard with bacon. Be still my beating heart this was a dream come true! I of course chose potato pancakes with country cream and woda gazowana (Polish for sparkling water). A whopping 20 zloty which comes out to $5.28 US dollars. Can it get any better? Yes.

After dinner we wanted to take a glimpse of the town square. Imagine five American students who are not used to seeing amazing and beautiful Polish architecture. What you get is five America students wondering if what you're standing in front of is real. The pictures that we are frantically posting on Facebook and Instagram don't even have the same effect as they do in person. We only saw all of this and more in the dark and in a few hours we'll be leaving for dinner once everyone finally arrives. Let's just say I am so excited for what's to come. If Krakow is this amazing I can't wait to see what Zakopane, Lublin, Lodz, Warsaw, and Gdansk have to offer.
