In all honesty, I really can't believe tomorrow I leave to go to Poland! Less than two months ago, I was fairly certain there was no way this could happen for me; if it weren't for my supportive professors, I'm sure it wouldn't be happening. But here I am, packing my bags for a month in Poland!
I'm fairly certain I'm packing too much, but I always like options and the term "pack light" is essentially impossible for me. You're talking to a girl who overpacked for a four day weekend, 75% of which was spent in an ice arena - so "packing light" for four weeks is not something within my abilities. But my suitcase and backpack both have some extra room for some souvenirs for the return home. Surprisingly, I didn't leave much of anything for the last minute. I had some little things to pick up, just some necessities I don't want to be without.
It will definitely be a whole new world for me, since I've never been away from my family for longer than a weekend; and I've never been out of the country - because according to Dr. Wraight, Canada doesn't really count. I'm looking forward to how much I'm sure I'll learn from this experience, and I can't wait to document it all!
